You are right; there are big flames about it on every Debian mailing
lists. Still Debian's policy is to remain open, and do not make barriers
to people trying to report a bug or anything -> thus the free to post
without subscribing thing.
Debian has spam and virus filters ofcourse, but nothing is 100%
precise. I use additional layers localy, but this spam slide thru them. :(
