At worst it's a bug in sablevm debian package (not SableVM).
Anyway - when I did the change I was somehow absolutely sure that it
was the right thing to do, and that I should have done it long ago...

I'll be uploading new version anyway, which will also include
jikes-sablevm. Should be today.

PS: Speaking of kicking. I belive you might be in danger from *many*
debian users, if you "fix" kaffe's FTBFS bugs on non-i386 arches by
removing the only testing that it had on them, that is, the compilation
of kaffe's classlib during builds.
