j2sdkee-1.2.1 was on the blackdown site at the end of 2000.
Checking now, it looks like the pulled EE.  Doubt it was
due to technical reasons as 1.2.1 seems to work ok (the
little I've used it).

Have you tried the EE for Linux on Sun's site?   It says
"Red Hat 6.2", which should be compatible with debian 2.2
(2.2 kernel).
