Re: KDDI/DION ADSL

I have had success with it. Using just about any PPPoE package available for Linux has worked for me. When I was using Linux as an Internet gateway, I used Debian, but the default PPPoE package in combination with ipchains presented problems as the PPPoE would not create the correct size of packet to pass through intact, or some BS like that. ;) Try looking for something like REPPPoE. It started with R. Cant say I remember the name at all right now.

I use DION as well. No complaints really. Though I'd still love to have cheaper broadband access. ;)

Now, in English, in case your English is better than my Japanese,
which is highly likely.

I'm looking into getting Broadband in Japan, and calculated that
KDDI/DION's ADSL would be the cheapest. Currently, I'm using
KDDI/DION with Flet's ISDN.

Can I use KDDI/DION's ADSL with Debian PowerPC? Has anyone had any
experience with them and Linux? Is it just a regular ADSL modem with
DHCP?

Thanks in advance.

Marshal
