Se hai un modem ethernet questo dovrebbe già esser in grado di fornirti
l'ip con cui sei collegato. Per il pc basta avere
in /etc/network/interfaces queste due righe:
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet dhcp
e poi dare /etc/inet.d/networking restart
e tutto dovrebbe andare bene; ifconfig va altrettanto bene,
o quel che si usa adesso da netinstall. A suo tempo non ho avuto
problemi ed anch'io ho un modem adsl con ethernet.
