il tuo pc cerca un server dhcp che gli assegni un indirizzo ip e finche no va' in time out sta' fermo li.
prova dare ctrl-C vedrai che riparte.
hai impostato il dhcp invece dell'ip fisso ?
sei in una rete ?
che distro hai ? debian ha questo settaggio dentro /etc/network/interfaces, guarda dentro e posta quel che c'e' scritto...
