thunderbird e i suoi benedetti "security components".

Se lancio thunderbird da root non ho problemi e tutto funzia.
Se lo lancio con utente normale mi viene detto:

Per togliermi tutti i dubbi su dove fosse il problema sono andato
nella home dell'utente e ho eseguito 'chmod -R 777
.mozilla-thunderbird'.
Brutta sorpesa: l'errore persiste e mi è impossibile inviare e ricevere mail
usando SSL/TLS.
Non ho la benche minima idea di dove possa essere il problema.
Qualcuno che ci ha già sbattuto la testa contro o che cmq ha un hint
può darmi una mano?
