Problemi Gnome su sarge (was due domande)

Ho fatto apt-get install gnome-core e 
apt-get install gnome-session e all'avvio di X ricevo questo messaggio d'errore:

here was an error starting the GNOME Settings Daemon.
 
Some things, such as themes, sounds, or backgrounds settings nay not work correctly.
 
The Settings Daemon restarted too many times.
 
The last error message was:
 
Failed to activate 'OAFIID:GNOME_SettingsDaemon'
 
GNOME will still try restart the Settings Daemon nex time you log in.

Ho visto che in list se ne è già parlato ma non si è arrivati ad una risoluzione del problema. Potete aiutarmi?
