Ho un PC con CPU Intel P4 1.8GHz su motherboard P4B266SE.
Col kernel 2.4.18 avevo impostato l'uso dell'ACPI, che funzionava
egregiamente; purtroppo passando al 2.4.22 il PC non si spegneva più
completamente ma restava sulla scritta "Power Down". Così ho deciso di
ricompilarmi di nuovo il .22 abilitando APM al posto di ACPI; adesso il
computer si spegne completamente, ma è comparso un effetto collaterale
peggiore: se non uso il mouse per un po' di tempo (indipendentemente dal
fatto che nel frattempo uso solo la tastiera) il computer va in
stand-by, e riesce ad uscirne solo se si trova in console. Da X (con
Window Maker) pur utilizzando mouse e/o tastiera non c'è verso di
risvegliarlo; l'unica cosa che mi tocca fare è premere
CTRL+Alt+Backspace per tornare alla console, cosa che fa uscire
immediatamente il pc dallo stand-by.
E' possibile fare in modo che anche da X si possa risvegliare il PC? O
al limite, è possibile disabilitare in toto lo stand-by, lasciando però
le altre funzionalità APM?
