dpkg -l "cups*" | grep ^ii che dice?

dovresti avere una cosa tipo:

tdmax@perisher:/$ dpkg -l "cups*" | grep ^ii

ii  cupsys-bsd     1.1.19final-1  Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - BSD
