Ma se premi solo altgr non appare "modeswitch"? Se altgr funziona da
modeswitch, dai

xmodmap -e "keycode  47 = ograve ccedilla at dead_doubleacute" 

all'avvio di X in automatico (mettilo nel .Xsession o nel .Xinitrc".

se altgr non funziona da modeswitch, dai

xmodmap -e "keycode 113 = Mode_switch"

Oppure le metti tutte e due. Per sapere se è già fatto, devi dare
xmodmap -pke come già suggerito. Se poi continua a non funzionare... boh
speriamo che funga.
