Hello Guys,
I have a bunch of 3Com SuperStack 3 Switch 4924 (3C17701) and one of
them was used at a customer which has gotten probems with there Sysadmin
Now gotten the Switch back and... I am fucked!
I can not use the switch anymore and it seems to be password protected.
Now, i the hope the Setings where cleared, I installed the 3Com Update
Utility under WINE and updated to the latest Firmware 4.22...
Fsck! -- I can not access the Switch, even if the 3Com Update Utility
has found the Switch on COM1.
Also I hae used NMAP to find the IP Address to access the Web-Interface
but failed.
Now contacting the crappy HP support (they have eaten 3Com) I can not
get any support, because the waranty runed out on october last year.
They do not even help me to recover the password...
This mean, a perfectly woking Switch for 5000 Euro is for the bin.
One thing is clear, I will never buy HP Products!
So, is there someone, which can help me to recover the Switch?
Oh, I have tried to install the 3Com Network Manager, but it complains
about a missing Winsock under WINE! Any help?
Thanks, Greetings and nice Day/Evening
