The FreeRADIUS project wiki seems to have some good documentation on how
to do just that:

http://wiki.freeradius.org/SQL_HOWTO
http://wiki.freeradius.org/Radiusd.conf (loaded with comments regarding
database configuration)

As well, freeradius-postgresql is available as a package in Lenny and
Etch-backports if you are using a packaged install as opposed to
building it yourself.

Hope this helps
