Re: Typo3 multi-site install?

Hiya,

Check out http://typo3.org/documentation/document-library/installation/doc_inst_upgr/1.1.0/view/1/4/#id4131413

You just need to add the relevant symlinks from each site to your single copy of the source. Each site has its own typo3conf, typo3temp, fileadmin, uploads folders (etc), while being symlinked to a single typo3_src.

For this particular install I'd recommend installing typo3 manually from their .tgz distribution rather than using the Debian package, just for the extra control over where it goes, and being able to have multiple versions installed side-by-side (just in case you run into a scenario where a user shouldn't be automatically upgraded when everyone else is).

Installing the .tgz distribution shouldn't affect an already-installed Debian package, so it ought to be safe to play with to test things out.

Hi there,

I would like to run multiple independent sites on a Debian server that
share a single Typo3 codebase (the Debian package), so that codebase
updates are automatically applied to all sites.

How can this be done?

I've Read The Fine Docs(TM), googled already about this, and also
searched the mailinglists archives, but to no avail. :-(

Thanks for any help.

Kind regards,

Ralf
