Re: compiling a kernel on amd64

Hi,
first you need deb-src entry in your sources.list.
for example: deb-src http://ftp.at.debian.org/debian/ lenny main non-free contrib
then just
apt-get update
apt-get source linux-image-2.6.26-2-amd64

Now you can find it in your current directory.

Hi, I wanto to know what is the fastest way to recompile an amd64 based kernel. What package do I have to download to recompile the kernel properly ? My version is 2.6.26-2-amd64. I only want to know how to get the kernel code properly, I know how to do the rest.

Thank you all.
