If you have access to a Windows machine, Microsoft provides some very  
nice tools as well:
WCAT (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/840671#13)
and WAST (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e2c0585a-062a-439e-a67d-75a89aa36495&DisplayLang=en 
)

Both feature a nice graphical frontend and can simulate multiple  
distinct browsers, each with its own traffic pattern, and support  
sites using cookies.
