Can't argue with the fact that lvs will do better balancing, but if you
want to do it automagically with DNS, I know that Dynect has a product
that will monitor a server and take it out of DNS if it doesn't respond.

I'm sure there's other folks that do the same thing, this is just the
one I happen to be familiar with.
