Hello,
I have a similar
problem.
I'm running Debian with Sendmail.
Last week, both my POP3 and SMTP servers worked. I then installed Dovecot for
IMAP but uninstalled it later that day.
I don't know if Dovecot is the reason
why it doesn't work, but now only the SMTP server is accepting connections. POP3
seems not to listen to connections, even from localhost. No firewall set by the
way...
Of course I've tried to restart
Sendmail several times, checked the settings (which used to work !) and even
tried to kill the process before restarting it. Still "connection
refused"...
Any idea ?
