Re: RAD FCD-24 and X.21/V.35 Controller for Linux

Is the line important?

If yes, you will need either 2x Cisco's or 2x X.21 Cards for your linux box, as
you will probably have to wait a while to get replacements shipped.

I would go for the cisco, as it makes routing a lot easier... This depends
however a lot on what your network looks like...

Dynamic routing protocols? etc....

I would also ensure that I get a service contract for the ciscos, so I can run
uptodate - or at least patched software when bugs do come out.

The cisco will probably be more expensive, but it really depends on what you want to do in the long run... Also be careful buying hardware through ebay - I know a few people
who have bought 75xxs and ended up with someones old 'DEAD' hardware....

Best of luck,

Andrew

I am interested in 1 to 4 Port models.

MicroGate SyncLink WAN Adapter with Singel and 4-Port

Does anyone have an experience with it ?
I have seen on the Internet there are issues with
the 2.6.xx Kernels but I use 2.4.27 on my routers...

OK, MicroGate has responded to the prices...

Singel Port X.21 499 US$
Quad-Port X.21 799 US$
Cable X.21 49 US$

Shiping to Starsbourg/France 65 US$ if minimum order.

Now what to to ?
I can get a used CISCO (4 x E1, Fast-Ethernet) for 1200 Euro...

Greetings
Michelle
