Postfix 2.1.5: problem with getnameinfo
Hi everybody,
can anybody help me on this problem:
On a Debian "Woody" box (which is being updated periodically witch apt),
I was willing to install postgrey from backports.org. So I added the
appropriate "deb http://backports..." lines to /etc/apt/sources.list.
Then I ran `apt-get install greylist`. Apt did complain on postfix being
below 2.1. So I also added an "backports-postfix" entry to sources.list
an updated postfix. This went fine, but: after restarting postfix I
found in /var/log/mail.log:
################################ snip ##################################
Feb 15 18:14:09 www postfix/smtpd[20296]: fatal: smtpd_peer_init:
numeric getnameinfo lookup for peer: error ai_family not supported
################################ snip ##################################
After this the smtp process died. On the client's side, this looked
like: "server dropped connection" or so.
Can anybody tell me anything about this problem? Yes, I know that the
reverse lookup of a connecting client failed, but I don't know why.
Google has no (matching) ideas...
Thanks a lot in advance and have a nice day,
Andreas
