ftp: command not found error in server

Hi,

 

 I have installed proftpd server in two machines and bother are running and working from windows machine and other machine.When i try to do a ftp between these two computers i am getting the foillowing error

 

main1:~# ftp x.x.x.x
-bash: ftp: command not found

 

Can some one help me how to fix this error in my webserver
