Chris,
The Intel PRO/100 and PRO/1000 ethernet cards are excellent and
inexpensive. You can also purchase mainboards with several of these
chipsets on-board. I have a number of Tyan mainboards with as many as 3
on-board Intel-based ethernet ports.
