I'm a bit confused why you are asking this on the IPv6 list instead of
the Alpha list, unless you are trying to flush out those of us who
run IPv6 on an Alpha box :)

I've had some luck with 2.4 kernels (you can read the thread about 
"the impossibility of raid1" on debian-alpha for how much fun it is).

In short:
 - I can compile and run a 2.4 kernel
 - IPv6 does work in it
 - Some versions of a 2.4 kernel will ruin your week and do a lot of
   evil things.  Especially if you run some funky FS.
 - My cdparanoia refuses to work at all with a 2.4 kernel
 - raid1 is just a sad story on 2.4 and most 2.2 kernels

I'm running 2.4.9 here
