Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: normal

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "ibus-keyman":

As Phil Morrell pointed out previously [1], and while I can understand that you find it disappointing, such a big version bump is too late before the release of Debian 11 [2].

"Starting 2021-02-12, only *small, targeted fixes* are appropriate for bullseye."

And uploads to unstable, which are not targeted for bullseye, should not be made either. So the sponsorship requests you just submitted seem not to be so well-timed.

I would suggest that you come back to the input method team once Debian 11 has been released and things are back to normal. If you see an opportunity to consolidate the packages into one source package, it would probably be worth it to prepare for that in the meantime. I suspect that the split into multiple source packages is one reason why it has been hard to catch somebody to sponsor the upgrade.
