I need to press S-SPC (Super-Space) twice for IBus to switch input
methods. This makes it inconvenient to frequently switch between input
methods.

So as it stands in BTS, this isn't going to help. So I am closing this
report.
FYI: If IM uses XIM, it tends to cause problem.
Please install all:
ibus-clutter,
ibus-gtk,
ibus-gtk3,
ibus-qt4,
libqt5gui5,
im-config
Then reboot to check your problem.
