Bug#905790: ibus-gtk3: ibus pop-up on login is distracting
Package: ibus-gtk3
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
ibus is installed by default on a Debian desktop (or at least
on debian live media).
When logging into an Xfce or Gnome session, an ibus pop-up is
displayed. This can be particularly annoying or distracting to
users who are trying out a live image, who won't know what ibus
even is, and what typically happens is that they perceive it
as an error message, which doesn't leave a great impression on
new Debian users.
Would you perhaps consider removing the notification of the new
default ibus shortcut pop-up? It's been there for a few releases
already, not sure if it really is all that useful anymore.
Thanks,
-Jonathan
