Ah, yes of course it can, fx using a non-letter symbol as a
glottal/retroflex "modifier". Silly me. It may be better for typing
flow. I guess it depends on typing preference/habit.
As an example for my latin keyboard this does it for d and t:
((dead_diaeresis t) ??)
((dead_diaeresis T) ??)
((dead_diaeresis d) ??)
((dead_diaeresis D) ??)
My point 2) in the last mail is still valid, though.
