Re: Re: ia64 qualification for Wheezy

Hi,

It would also be nice to have a look at 659186 gnome-shell:
Segmentation fault in libmozjs185.so.1.0 at startup. Indeed, it seems
to be a general issue with Javascript on IA64 (cf. 657351
js/src/shell/js segfaults on ia64). From what I understand, a
"similar" issue was fixed in Iceweasel on IA64
(https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=589735), but I don't
know how specific this fix was and if it could be generalized to other
(all?) Javascript applications (maybe in this case by commonalizing
the Iceweasel fix somewhere in a header/file shared by all Javascript
applications). I remember for sure having played with GNOME Shell on
IA64 during the pre-3.0 era.

As for desktop use, I'm also experiencing issue with Iceweasel 10
(reported early on the ia64 list:
http://lists.debian.org/debian-ia64/2012/03/msg00009.html), while
Iceweasel 9 was running fine. And since Epiphany randomly crashes
(642750 epiphany-browser: *HIGHLY* unstable on ia64
(IA-64/IPF/Itanium) platform) and Chromium isn't available for IA64,
graphical web browser choice is rather scarce...

Best regards,
