parted cannot fully resize on ia64

Hello,

sorry for the cross post but I am not sure, where the real problem is:

   # parted /dev/sdc

   (parted) p

   can manage is 1051.000-204799.983Mb.
   OK/Cancel? 

What is the problem here? BTW, I am not subscribed to bug-parted, please
