Troubles with integrated SCSI controller (LSI Logic, mptscsih)

Hello.

I'm testing kernel-image-2.4.{19,20,22,24,25}-mckinley-smp but - exept
from 2.4.17 installed by Woody installer - integrated SCSI controller
(LSI Logic: LSI53C1030, used with Fusion MPT SCSI module (mptscsih))
hangs with timeout&c just after mouting root file system.
2.4.17 from Woody installer works well and I have no timeout. Even a
customized kernel (tested with 2.4.25) shows this trouble. :(
Machine is an Intel based 4*Itanium2 (82870P2 P64H2).

I get errors like these:

SCSI Error: (0:0:0) Status=02h (CHECK CONDITION)
 Key=Bh (ABORTED COMMAND); FRU=02h
 ASC/ASCQ=48h/00h ""
 CDB: 28 00 01 93 3E 60 00 00 08 00

[...]

Current sd08:04: sense key Aborted Command
Additional sense indicates Initiator detected error message received
 I/O error: dev 08:04, sector 19479232

or

SCSI host 0 channel 0 reset (pid 67) timed out - trying harder
SCSI bus is being reset for host 0 channel 0.
mptscsih: OldReset scheduling BUS_RESET (sc=e0000002fedd3a80)

mptbase: ioc0: LogInfo(0x110a0000): F/W: unknown
SCSI host 0 reset (pid68) timed out again -
probably an unrecoverable SCSI bus or device hang.

Any hint?

Thanks, Leonardo.
