APR did not pass its selftest on ia64 when I tried a few weeks ago.  I
didn't have time to investigate it.

I don't know if Debian has any way to do 'make check' automatically
for various packages but it might be worth trying.

BTW, can anyone direct me to instructions on how to file a request for
a new package to be included in debian?  I can see the 'wnpp'
pseudo-package, but that looks like it only has reports from
developers saying what they're going to do, rather than wishes from
non-DDs.
