bootcurrent vs boot000X
Dear All,
We had itanium2 rx2600 box shipped RH professional server. But I've
decided to rip it off and put debian on it. So I took
net install image from
http://gluck.debian.org/ia64
which was dated of may (can't get to that page now :-/) because sarge
net install didn't boot for me for some reason.
Everything went smooth but it denies to make my debian bootable.
If I go to the log console I see that efibootmgr (I'm at home now so I'm
trying to recall names - I can be wrong) can't find
/proc/efi/vars/BootCurrent<hardid>
I went to that directory and what I've found is that I have
Boot000[0-3]-<...> for different boot menu options but I don't have
BootCurrent-<...>
I thought that may be firmware is old... I installed a new one from HP
web site.. the same result.
What is that? old efibootmgr? or I can setup somehow that in efi shell
on boot.
I've tried to find that in google - no chance - just couple of japaneese
pages which describe efi a bit...
P.S. Another question: because keyboard is usb, now when I just copied
previous red hat boot partition and modules, it boots but it gets to
debian installation before installing usb system so I can't use
keyboard... did anybody had similar problems?
Thank you in advance for any hints!
