Err, hello, that is octave2.1 seg.faulting (ie another package *used* by
octave-forge) and this is precisely why we had the email exchange between
you, me, JWE and others.  

Randoph suggested on debian-alpha to try the new gcc-snapshot package. Could
you provide that for John on itanium.gag.com.
