Yes you are right three days is to short a time period, but register at Transifex and you will get a longer deadline. (the number of strings changing for each versions aren't that big, so if you get started in the coming months, you will be ready for the next version. There has been three releases this year: 20th April, 22th August and 12th December.

 Three days is much too short for many translation teams. If
 you seriously want updates you should allow at least 10 days for
 updates (including reviews on the national teams), given that below
 you  state 557 strings probably some more. So most likely updates
 will be provided for the next relase only.
 
 Still, the announcement is much appreciated (i.e. that you
 care about the translations).
