The contents of a file are strongly different from the point of view of a translator and the developer, and diff tools have been developed by and for source code. Nevertheless, a translation file has an internal structure that does not feet lines, as it is based upon Translation Units, that, as is well known, in the gettext world are made upon comments, flags, msgctxt, msgid, and msgstr. If you are using a three stages quality system, namely: translator.localise -=po-file=> secondperson.review -=feedback_info=> translator.revise => final po-file then, you can use a "Translation review report" to send the feedback with the finds of the audit/review. Please find enclosed a model (it's a draft for internal use at KDE's Galician tr project). The idea is to comment at mail-list those "unfits", and put them into a "style- guide" or "glossary", according to their nature.
