Yes, it may be small, `du' files in the control.tar.gz part of the .deb
are also small, but when you collect a lot of them, they take disk space.
I will report your .pot file as a bug. No GNU program does ever install
a .pot file.
If you agree, we can make a repository of Debian .pot files and advertise
the existence of this repository in the Debian web pages.
