Actually there was a /hurd/crash --dump-core just hanging there but actually not dumping the file. After some fiddling, I did get a core file.

Indeed that was the case, but after mounting the partition from a live CD,
I attach the attempt to get the backtrace, but there seems to be some problem
with the core file. Any way to make this useful?
