That's very odd. I mean, we re-enabled the fstype tests here:

 https://github.com/tavianator/bfs/commit/85caf29cfd2f40ef10ed76d425bb89a5f8f45a1a

.. but that was in 1.2.2-2.

debian-hurd@, any input here? Any reason why /proc/mounts might not
exist, or...?  Maybe that's not the reason and we are being confused by
the the strerror?
