Debian/Hurd d-i installation report

Hi,

I just installed Debian/Hurd using d-i [0] on a VIA Eden mini-ITX
mainboard [1]. I just used the first cd for the installation, no
network mirror. All in all it went fine, some remarks:

* No passive translator was installed on /proc.

* The tasksel step looked strange, there was just one empty line and
one saying something like "standard system utilities".

Hardware support:

* The internal network card [2] isn't working, though there seems to
be a netdde based driver. Haven't investigated this further.

* I installed a 250GB hard disk but it doesn't show up with the full
  capacity, dunno why.

* I hooked up my vt510 terminal to the serial port and started a getty
on that port. This works, but if (this is just empirical) lot's of
text is sent to the terminal, gnumach writes 'Tty %p stuck...' to
the console. Typing on the keyboard seems to help get it unstuck,
but if I run either top or htop that update frequently, the terminal
  becomes unusable.

I plan to use this system for performance measurements and as a
demonstration box for conferences. I'll keep you posted.

Cheers,
Justus
