Sorry Samuel, but my second question should have read "If not...". So since Hurd can but Mach cannot, what would you recommend I do - only specify 1 processor for the vm for Hurd?

Hurd, yes, but Mach, not really any more (it doesn't support recent SMP
boxes and probably has bugs now)
