There is a wide range of resources on East Timor and Indonesia available on the internet, and more are being added all the time.  Please let us know of any additions or corrections.

The first two East Timor lists (alerts, east-timor news) are currently maintained manually.  If you wish to subscribe, write us at etan@etan.org or go to http://etan.org/resource/elecRsrc.htm. ETAN also maintains a postal mailing list (Even if you only wish to receive electronic material, we would appreciate having your postal mailing address, and phone).

EAST-TIMOR news

east-timor focuses on distributing current news and analysis from a wide range of official and unofficial sources, including East Timorese civil society, as well as ETAN, and other international support, human rights, political and humanitarian groups. Reports and translations from wire services and the East Timorese, Indonesian, Portuguese, Australian, British, and U.S. press regularly appear there, as well as official documents and statements from the U.N., national governments, and other sources. (East-timor began as a listserve called reg.easttimor and is sometimes known by that name.)

Postings average 12 per day, although the frequency varies with the pace of East Timor-related events. A weekly selection of news items can be found at: http://www.etan.org/et/. A complete archive from Jan. 2001 to mid-February 2006 is available at http://www.topica.com/lists/east-timor@igc.topica.com/read. A current archive can be found at https://lists.riseup.net/www/arc/east-timor.

ETAN ALERT LIST

East Timor Action Network/US has a electronic mailing list for action alerts.  These alerts primarily deal with influencing the U.S. government and other events in the U.S. Items are sent as events warrant, averaging 1-5 per month. Write etan@etan.org to receive our alerts.
