OK.

When looking at it from the Debian GNU/Hurd point of view, we're
interested in how the packages in the archive perform - very few people
are using them (as the userbase in general is small).

Probably help-hurd is a better place to get help for that, as we (Debian
GNU/Hurd) do not know about the particularities of that system.

Hard to say; we've got a couple of lower hanging fruits right now (qt4
being the most prominent), I'll take a look at Gnome again at some
point.  Most of the packages seem to compile; gnome-panel and
gnome-applet might have issues.  One problem is the ever growing batch
of external dependencies, like avahi, hal, d-bus etc.  We currently have
to back those out, but I guess the time will come when Gnome
hard-depends on one of them.
