It seems building it with a separate /usr is the only way to go. Just for
fun, I tried to build it with a /usr -> . symlink and a PATH with /bin before /usr/bin, and of course, it fails. (it checks '/bin/pager' while it is in '/usr/bin').

Still, Colin, maybe you could consider a work-around for that case?  Not
terribly important though I guess.

Well, I think those problems are bound to happen everywhere, so we should
just decide to build packages only with separate /usr.
