FW: Starting the Hurd console on bootup (was: Re: hurd get going?)

Forwarding this old mail from the archives...  I indicates what to do
in order to make the hurd console to start automatically under
multi-user mode...  This is a little old, but I tried it in a new
installation I tried with crosshurd a few days ago.

You need to call it from /libexec/runsystem. I attached a
file hurd-console.diff, which shows what I've changed. Can't
tell who initially wrote this piece of code for sure,
but IIRC it was contributed by Michael Banck.

Furthermore you want to copy the hurd-console file to
/etc/default (and adjust it accordingly)
