Hello Debian GNU/Hurd, In bug #237874 against popularity-contest, Göran Weinholt told us /dev/urandom do not exist on GNU/Hurd. This cause popularity-contest installation process to generate the same HOSTID of 'd41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e'. This lead to all GNU/Hurd machines to be considered the same by popularity-contest. We will fix that in the next upload, but that will only affect new installations. If you have a file /etc/popularity-contest.conf already, please change MY_HOSTID to the md5sum of a really random file. Make sure the value must match ^[a-f0-9]{32}$ in any case. Sorry for the inconvenience, Cheers, -- Bill. <ballombe@debian.org> Imagine a large red swirl here.
