That sounds rather ambitious. Let us know if it works and
how fast or slow it seems. I'm not overly optimistic about
the pthread emulation performance, but one never knows.
You may run into problems with the Pth pthreads implementation
being non-preemptive which does not technically violate the
pthreads specification but some programs expect preemptive
behavior.
It should make for an interesting experiment anyways. The
"real" glibc pthreads implementation is still coming down
the pipe and will make more utilization of the unique Hurd
characteristics. It should be quite exciting when it is
finished!
My Hurd installation is kind of in disrepair for the moment
as I am in the process of moving and haven't had much time
to tinker with it lately. At least most of the computers are
back online now. Just sold my HP9000 715/80 and replaced it
with a 64-bit C200 too, quite the upgrade!
