Such things have happened in the past.  I wantto encourage you to exercise
patients.  We will sort it out.  You did not make a mistake by asking back,
but you should probably avoid putting emphasize on the delay, and just ask
if there is anything particular wrong with the patch.

If a fix is ignored because the package is currentyl not actively maintained
(maintainer has no time etc), another Debian developer can step up and make
a non-maintainer release of the package.  You can ask here if somebody is
willing to do that for stat.  However, 49 days is not soo long in the Debian
world, I have bug reports filed over a year ago, without having the benefit
of an opinion about it by the maintainer ;)

But it is good that you keep track of your patches and what happens to them.
Just try to avoid direct confrontation, we are all just volunteers.  If he
has no time, maybe somebody else has, problem solved. ;)
