The scripts don't seem to do anything for linux or any other
architecture.

I redid the patch for gtkfind now it uses autoconf to check for
get_current_dir_name();
I have noticed in some programs config.sub does not recognize the
gnu system. Does anyone know how this file is generated and if it
can be replaced at any time by a newer version of the file?
