help reqd installing hurd on i386!
hi,
I have a problem installing hurd on my PIII box running Debian
GNU/Linux2.2. I installed hurd using both the debs (with cross
install) and with the tarball. With both the boot process stops after
detecting the scsi devices. Like so:
scsi : 0 hosts.
scsi : detected total.
I have no scsi devices, so this is correct.
I have the following questions. I'd very much appreciate any answers.
(1) What happens after scsi devices are detected? Does hurd try to
mount partitions?
(2) Will hurd boot off extended partitions? Has anyone installed hurd
on extended partitions??
(3) Does hurd have problems with partitions that are around 988M large?
(4) Is my problem due to IRQ sharing? If so how do I find that out
and solve it?

(5) Could the problem be related to the fact that the partitions are
non-contiguous? If you notice /dev/hda2 is at the end of the disk.
(a) If this is a problem is there an easy fix? Or is it impossible
for me to run hurd on this disk?

Hurd.
