creating disklabels/ufs partitions from Linux?

Hi,

I wanna check if the zero hole bug also shows up when using bsd ufs
partitions. If not, I will happily use them to update our tool chain and
compile oskit and mach-oskit. If yes, I will sink my teeth into the table
plate :-O

If someone knows a way to create a ufs partition I can use with the Hurd
from Linux, I would appreciate his advice. I know almost nothing about it.
